In our Lent course this year we are considering “The Nail” by Stephen Cottrell, which challenges us to recognise our role in the drama of the Cross. The sessions will be led by Revd Pat Mann (Chapel of the Old Royal Naval College) and Revd Caroline Risdon on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm on Zoom, from 24 February to 24 March. Bishop's Lent Call 2021

This year the focus for the Bishop's Lent Call is food insecurity. You can find the Lent Call Bible study booklet here and along with other resources for each week here. Please do use these for your personal prayer over Lent. If you find yourself in a position to donate to any of the causes mentioned, your gift will be very gratefully received - you can find out more about how to give here.

The Collect for Ash Wednesday

You may like to pray the Collect (short prayer) for Ash Wednesday during Lent:

Almighty and everlasting God,
you hate nothing that you have made
and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent:
create and make in us new and contrite hearts
that we, worthily lamenting our sins
and acknowledging our wretchedness,
may receive from you, the God of all mercy,
perfect remission and forgiveness;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
