VE Day 80th Anniversary Commemorations

 

Commemoration and Thanksgiving Service

You are warmly invited to an ecumenical service of commemoration and thanksgiving on the 80th anniversary of the declaration of Victory in Europe on 8 May 1945. With civic leaders and Royal British Legion branches. The Right Rev'd Alastair Cutting, Bishop of Woolwich, will be preaching.

Crypt Open Day – VE Day Celebration

The church’s historic crypt will be open especially for this anniversary.  It will be open for visitors from 6pm to 7pm and then from 8pm to 8.30pm on Thursday 8 May.

Volunteering-tour-guide

Discover spaces usually closed to the public, find out who was buried in vaults in the crypt and hear how the crypt was used as a bomb shelter for 40 families during the “Blitz."

FREE admission. Donations welcome.

Drop in, no booking required.
