Booking a Venue 

If you are looking for a venue to hire or to book the church for a concert or recital, we can offer a setting in the centre of Greenwich, a tradition of great music, and proximity to multiple transport links. This beautiful church, designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor, provides a tranquil space in the centre of Greenwich.

St Alfege Church has a range of spaces available to hire in the heart of Greenwich and all of the ground floor spaces are fully wheelchair accessible.
 

The Church |


The beautiful Hawksmoor church is suitable for concerts, recitals, exhibitions, lectures, filming, and other events.

There is seating for 350 on the ground floor with additional seating in the galleries for 170 (of which 120 do not have sight lines).

The main organ, chamber organ, and grand piano are available for use by professional musicians with permission. Staging is available for hirers.

The church is a popular venue for concerts and recitals throughout the year ranging from orchestras, choirs, concert bands and jazz.  For further details about forthcoming concerts and performances please find out more here

Caton Room |

The Caton Room is on the first floor gallery of the church and is a boardroom style space which can accommodate up to twenty people. There is no disabled access to this room as it is accessible only by stairs to the gallery.

£45 per hour

 

The Hall |
 

Main Church |

The main church hall
across the courtyard is a bright and flexible space with 16 tables and 120 chairs. Suitable for children's parties, quiz nights, charity fundraising events and regular group meetings such as dance classes and playgroups.

The capacity in the main church hall is 80 seated and 120 standing.

The main church hall can be booked with or without the Frank Smith Room.
St Alfege Church hall is in great demand so please contact us as soon as you can eg at least two to three months prior to your event.

The Frank Smith Room |

The Frank Smith Room is a separate smaller room with folding doors to the main hall. It is an ideal space for meetings of up to 15 to 20 people. 

£23 per hour.

The main hall and The Frank Smith Room together £68 per hour
 

Kitchen and Bardsley Room |

A fully equipped kitchen is available with side room.  This must be booked separately. 

£33 per hour

 

If you would like to make a booking to use any of our hall spaces and equipment and/or view any of the spaces, please contact the church office including details of the proposed event, desired venue space, date and time. We will get back to you to discuss the booking, and to confirm availability. Hire time to include set up and clear up so please allow adequate time. There is no VAT.
