Welcome to St Alfege Church in the heart of one of London’s most vibrant and fascinating areas. From its beginnings Greenwich has been a place which has received and welcomed new residents and visitors.
This sacred place has been at its centre since St Alfege was martyred in here in 1012. We offer worship for all ages which is uplifting and this involves many in its preparation. We keep this beautiful church open to visitors, worshippers and those who need time for rest and reflection throughout the week.
We are now running Hidden Spaces tours which includes a tour of the crypt. Find out more here.
Everyone is welcome to attend our acts of worship - we have a number of different services throughout the week.
If you do not wish to attend a service then you are very welcome to explore St Alfege Church. Visitors are welcome to explore quietly during services. St Alfege Church plays an active role in the community and occasionally we may be closed or restrict some areas because a service or an event is taking place. All closures are noted on our home page so please check before visiting.
